Just Birding is closed now after working to serve people with quality bird guiding for many years. We hope that our clients have enjoyed our time together as much as we have also.
Thank you to all of our valued clients for their appreciation of one of the top sports of our times: bird watching. A sport that allows us to enjoy birds without killing them while opening our eyes and minds to political and environmental reality through our cherished canaries in the coal mines.
I want to thank some of the wonderful people who have guided me over the years like Ramiro Yabar in Cusco, Daniel Wakra in Port Moresby Papua New Guinea, Hugulino Onate in Mindo Ecuador, Caboca in Canudos Brazil, Juan in Galapogas, Santos Domingo in Pomacocha Peru, Silverio at Tambopata Research Center in Peru, and so many others. You all made me a better guide.
I want to thank Tofino supporters like Adrian Dorst, Maureen and Lee Fraser, Michael Mullin, Arty and Lisa Ahiers at Sobo, Keith Gibson, Brenda Schwab, Rich Sandford and post humously Rod MacDonald. I will never forget the patience and help given by Schramm Design and Raincoast Law in Ukee and Richard Badman at gearth.
George is retiring to his organic farm and will spend a little more time in one of the last birding frontiers: Papua New Guinea.
If only one or two of the thousands of people I have guided acts and does something to save the birds of our world then I have achieved what I wanted to do.
Birding will only exist if we become stewards of our world and keep our eyes and ears on our canaries in the coal mine.
